San Fran Again

So for my 20th birthday back in August Kaden took me to San Francisco again. I am not quite sure what it is about that place but we both absolute love it. Some day in the far future don't be surprised if we end up living there, even if it is just for the summer. Well so when we went this time we planned out all of the places we wanted to see in advance and even figured out the bus routes even though that didn't help us much. There is a story there and I'll get back to it. First the places we visited.

The Golden Gate Bridge was first. Actually it came just after Tiffany's &Co. but it was our first real destination. It was beautiful outside, honestly we couldn't have asked for a better time to visit the bridge usually it is so foggy that you can hardly even see across it. It was a pretty neat walk too. Once we got to the middle we saw sea lions and dolphins in the water below us and watched as a massive oil tank went under the bridge as well.
Kaden likes to model for me :) i just had to throw this picture up though these doors were on the most beautiful abandoned building just around the corner from the bridge.
Our next visit was to The Exploritorium and Fine Arts musuem. We didn't end up going inside because we were pretty hungry and ready to head to the warf but the outside is absolutely beautiful. The architecture here is so diverse and so amazing I am always in aw with the different types of beauty.
After that we headed to the Warf, sorry no pictures of that... its not to exciting anyways. The next day we went to Coit Tower which was very neat and on the way there we found Mama's and decided we'd go Sunday before we left. Anways, Coit tower was nice very historical as well and allowed you to see all of San Fran from the top. Then after that we wandered around and made our way back to the warf for lunch again and to see the Sea Lions.

Ive decided to become a proffesional Sea Lion Photographer.

Okay on to our last day their and probably our most interesting. We started the morning out by packing up and checking out of our beautiful hotel. We stayed in the St. Francis Westin on Union Square. I highly recomend it. Then we headed to breakfast in Little Italy at Mama's the place we had seen the day before. The reason we decided we should eat here is because when we past before there was a line that rapped all the way around the block of people just waiting to get in to eat. It was the same way when we went and, no joke, waited in line for an hour and a half. It was so worth it though. Also a must go place anytime you are there. They had the best french toast in the entire world. I was dumb enough to order eggs benedict but luckily Kaden knew what to get. After our amazing breakfast we decided to go shopping further inland at a Nordstrom's Rack we figured it was probably pretty amazing, it was a total let down though. This is when we had know idea how to plan our bus trip. We hopped on a bus called the #9 this is not a joke. Do not ever and i am serious, ever get on the #9, unless i guess you have a death wish but even then i wouldn't encourage it. So we got on the #9 and for some reason though it turned around fairly quick and headed back into Union Square. Oh no it didn't it took us strait to the ghetto as the nice houses turned into run down apartments we knew we were in trouble. Then when we were the only white people on the bus we really knew we were in trouble. Then when the run down apartments turned into ridiculously run down apartments and no one was outside at all except for well very rough people is a good way of putting it we really really really knew we were in trouble. Then to top it off here i am with a 2,000 dollar camera around my neck, tiffanys jewlery on, true religions, and a rock on my left hand. I owe my life to guy in the back of the bus who told us to get off asap and run across the street and get on the next train as fast as we could. He asked where we were from and stated it this way. You might think Vegas is a rough place, but that is nothing. You go any further here and you will end up in a place that even the worst people from vegas are afraid to go. We did as he told and well we are fine but the situation could have been a lot worse. I wish i had pictures of this experience now but at the time i was to afraid to life my camera up and look amazed with what i was seeing.

An update on our lives

So in the past six months not much has gone on. We Honeymooned in San Francisco where it rained the entire time, the cable cars broke down and we walked miles everyday, but it was a blast. It was actually so much fun we are going again in a few weeks. We are hoping for no rain this time though and we already have everything mapped out that we want to do.

Back in May we went to Newport and Laguna with my Family and most of the Hendrix Family. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone and spending time with them. We really enjoyed swimming with the boys and hot tubbing with everyone at the Super 8. Poor Kaden was sick the entire time though and didnt enjoy himself like me and Sarah did. We loved getting our nails done while Kaden was napping and dragging him around shopping to all the cute little boutiques. We found some amazing deals down there. I got a pair of sanadl that are now my favorites for ten bucks and super cute dress that ended up being to big for seventeen. Its nice being the smallest in the family though, i just sold the dress to Sarah. We also did some fun shopping at the South Coast Plaza ha and this is when Kaden dressed up for us. I dont know what got into him but little Katie has decided he is always in a better mood when he has his yellow pants on. Other high lights of the trip were crab hunting in Laguna at the tide pools, watching kaden out shoot my dad on an overpriced game at knotts berryfarm, riding the rollercoasters at knott's, seeing camille, and watching Justice pet the lobsters at Red Lobster.

Our last trip was to Fish Lake with the Kaden's family and the Alger side. I had a blast. We took my little sister Katie with us and she had fun as well. Kaden was a little grumpy most of the weekend because we took Tiffany too and dogs were not allowed to stay in our lovely "Rustic Cabin." That was a little stressful but we never got caught. We took a boat up with us though that didn't work and I think that is what ruined most of Kadens weekend along with the rain that we got. Overall though we caught enough fish to fill our freezer and Katie and I didn't even need Kadens help baiting our worms. Unfortunatley we didn't get to take any pictures because we forgot our camera.

Besides our few trips we have not done much. We traveled to Provo one weekend and stayed a night in Vegas at the Palazo one weekend but besides that we just hang out. We have had a few movie marathons right now we are in middle of watching all the pirates movies but we lost the second one so its on hold until we find it. We go out to dinner quite a bit. Our favorite new restaruant is Samuri 21 in Mesquite. Kaden has a fun time there laughing at the chefts and their ridiculous jokes. We are avid book hunters now. Its become probably our best shared hobby at the moment. Kaden loves old church books and I love almost all books so we have started searching old book stores for good finds. We have found some amazing books so far. Just a couple weeks ago we found a store that has first edition Whitman, Blake, and Dickinson and they are all signed. I was in love. But i dont make enough to buy a book like that. They were almost 40,000 a peice. They also had an original pamphlet of common sense and not the new Glen Beck one, the actual Thomas Paine one. When we aren't doing some of these things together we are usually working. Both of us are working full time. Kaden is for Wheeler Electric and I am a Supervisor for the pools at the Casa Blanca. School starts again in a few weeks though. I am very excited. It has been nice having the summer off but i am definitily ready to go back.

To Blog or Not To Blog

It has been awhile now since Kaden and I were married and when we were first married i was very opposed to placing our life online. That was until i somehow became obsessed with updating my status on facebook (thanks to my oh so exciting job.) So i have now decided to join the blogging club even though our lives aren't all that interesting I am sure i can find plenty of things to talk about. Today is the first time i have had time to sit down and actually write a post since i decided to start up or blog a few weeks ago. Kaden is out of town, hunting of course, and i finally have the day off.
